Kelly Upp — Senior product leadership

I help early-stage teams make better product decisions, turn ideas into real products, and build the product function they need before they’re ready for a full-time product leader.

How I help

Three ways to work together.

Product gets complicated before the company is ready for a product team.

Whether you need to answer one important product question, take a new product from idea to launch, or add senior product leadership to the team, I work at the point where strategy has to become action.

01

Decide

Product Clarity Sprint

When an important product decision is stuck, unclear, or carrying too much uncertainty.

02

Build

0→1 Product Leadership

When you know what you want to build and need someone senior to drive it from idea through launch.

03

Own

Fractional Product Leadership

When you need a senior product person embedded in the business — just not full-time.

AI Build Sprint

You have an idea. Let’s build it.

Have an idea for an AI-powered workflow, prototype, or internal tool? I can help turn it into something working.

About

I’m Kelly Upp. I’m a product person who likes figuring out what to do when there isn’t an obvious answer.

I’ve spent the last decade working in product, mostly in environments where the playbook isn’t fully written yet.

That means I’m comfortable with ambiguity, but I’m not interested in ambiguity for its own sake. My job is to turn a messy set of inputs — customer needs, business goals, technical constraints, competing opinions, limited resources — into better decisions and forward motion.

Start Me Upp

Product thinking, in public.

Start Me Upp is where I write about building products when the conditions aren’t clean: messy decisions, imperfect information, early-stage constraints, AI, process, people, and the tradeoffs that rarely make it into the playbook.
